Holidays and celebrations are a great starting point for learning about people's differences and similarities. Everyone can relate to having a good time! 

 

Note:  Remember when teaching about holidays and celebrations not to tokenize the children in your class.  Identity intersects multiple areas of life which may or may not have a holiday or celebration attached to them.  If a child does celebrate a certain holiday be mindful that they may experience it in a different way.
